Silver Sunday Tea
The Mayor of Richmond attended RGN’s Silver Sunday afternoon tea on 9th October, spending time talking to guests and meeting volunteers. Musical entertainment was provided by Sarah Burley.
Held at the Avenue Club, Kew we welcomed guests from KNA, FiSH, The Avenue Club, Richmond Good Neighbours and other local residents.
Moving and Handling Skills
It was really good to welcome Piers Osborne from Simply First Aid back to ETNA to run another Moving and Handling Skills session for a group of volunteers and staff from HANDS, KNA and Richmond Good Neighbours.
The three hour course taught those who attended how to move clients safely in and out of a chair and around their homes, what to do if a client falls, how to get in and out of a car and how to move clients in a wheelchair.
Marathon Success for Kristan
Our London Marathon runner, Kristan Alliston completed the 2021 London Marathon in an impressive time, 3.50.15, below his 4 hour target.
London glistened in the autumn sunshine, the perfect conditions for a runner and the streets were full of supporters cheering the runners on, which Kristan says was "electrifying".
Community Heroes Award
In case you missed it, Richmond Good Neighbours was recently a recipient of the Community Hero Award, which is down to all our volunteers and your hard work.
You can see a clip of Anne talking about this wonderful achievement and our lockdown experience here.
